You Can't Un-Eat

Perhaps Akhnaton-Moses, a historical evidence , will take credence as the reality of Tut being Akh's son became accepted as Gospel by the stodgy Egyptologist through something like the way Osmosis works in plants . Oedipus seems more likely to be understood and sooner accepted than the uprooting of Moses from his pedastal. Osman was brilliant at times , then "Out of Egypt " ..and oblivion. Villikovsky's "Akhnaton and Oedipus " was brilliant but "Worlds in Collision" has often been attacked which draws his earlier theories and reasoning into question. Archaeologist ,Barbara Thiering's Pesher reading of the Greek books of the New Testament dispel supernatural occurrences in favor of a secret historic recording of the events of that era but she was attacked viciously which ,again ,took her out of the American public library system. I flippantly told Osman and Barbara that if they presented their major theories as fiction they would have best sellers. I guess it's too late now. Barbara is in a home in Australia . I hope she is comfortable .

Betrayal

The next symbolic act will be to outlaw the American Flag. How far behind this betrayal of half the American men killed in the Civil War is the American Flag for all the things it represents from the point of view of so many who would betray us in the name of being politically correct. History can't be denied but it can be hidden. The repression of history results in psychological problems for entire generations.

King Tut and all the Amarna Kings were deleted form the egyptian list of Kings and from history by the Pharaoh Horemheb . The results of that repressed knowledge is that the truth about who Akhenaten was is still a controversial and psychological mystery. The present day Egyptians under Mubarac wanted to rewrite history and politically excise the other monotheist , the Jews and christians, by controlling all the digs ( Zahi Hawass) and not allowing scientific searches ( the Japanese DNA test of 2000 which was stopped in it's tracks and labeled , along with Ahmed Osman , a "Zionist Plot"). but the first monotheist was Akhenaten who might have later become the "Moses' of the Hebrews, and also might have been the historic Oedipus.These characteristics have haunted the world since that bygone era of about 1300 BC. We only found evidence of Akhenaten in about 1905 and of course with the discovery of the "Tut"" tomb in 1920. Historians were scratching their heads about this and still are . The history has been clouded with supernatural explanations instead of the historical evidence for generations trying to explain the tenets of monotheism which was the birth of intolerance starting with Akhenaten and his edict that there would be one god under penalty of death . That is the basic tenet of monotheism,"Thou shalt have no other god before me ." All the Abrahamic monotheist , the Jews, the Christians , and the Muslims are still waging war under the same simple yet very similar flag ,a flag that was originated with Akhenaten, a heretic, an aberration , a child molester ,the leader , an iconoclast ,the first of all monotheist, and the betrayer of his fellow Egyptians ,nearly bringing down the kingdom in his religious zealotry. How far will we go to hide history? What makes our current actions any different than the actions of the State of Islam in tearing down archaeological sites in their control that depict idols ? Going back and judging history ,destroying history, will not change history. The only way to benefit from the mistakes of the past is to recognize and teach what happened in the past . Attacking metaphors is not the answer. Don't forget the "Dark Ages" when the Catholic church made reading a dirty word. Don't forget Pol Pot murdering the people in Cambodia that wore glasses. Burning books is not only stupid it is detrimental to our success.

The American Revolution was before the invention by Mr. Guillotine but that invention should be held over the heads of our Congress, Senate, and Supreme Court to remind them of why there was an American Revolution. Did Ireland give up? Justifiable Homicide

You will find a repaired photo of Mhai Scott in my adjusted now called "Justifiable Homicide".composite .Justifiable homicide is what they called the action of the Virginia police who killed a little Chinese woman ,Mhai Scott who had a knife. You have to wonder exactly what kind of training it takes to shoot someone with a knife. I mean a bat might have been a better decision than a bullet.It seems to me that a long broom might be an antidote to a knife , that is the stick could keep a small Chinese woman at bay while the other police could surround the woman , knock her over with their Billies..or swat at her with newspapers. Damn, you could throw apples at her and get positive results without having to kill her with your gun. Prince Georges County and Montgomery County are no different and they have been pushing the boundaries of the law since long before 2001. It has only gotten worse. It is a wonder that there aren't more people flipping out ,waving knives on their three day a week jobs for Walmart,KMart, TJMax, McDonalds,and Home Depot where they are under the wire without benefits, no idea what their schedule is , and sharing housing with others.They said she was threatening them . Boy , grown men , grown men who are supposed to be trained to handle situations not shoot , whitewash , and ask questions later.

The point is that these killings are constantly happening all over the country and it is not a racial situation. It is a human situation facing the citizenry of the United States. The sensational - racial amplification takes the focus off the real situation that the police , the government , those forces we invest our trust in to do the right thing are not doing the right thing. How long is the police state going to be supported with fear mongering. In Boston , they shut down the entire city for one boy after the local security dropped the ball . In DC 2002 , they shut down the entire Beltway looking for the wrong truck. This testing of a free society has resulted in the loss of a free society.Everybody is holding on for dear life . You people who work for the government , the military , and even private industry since the January 2010 Supreme Court Ruling can't openly express an opinion that is counter to what you know is dictated to you by your boss.Facebook,Google, MSN,Twitter, etc. etc. are all now in the pocket of Obama.Democrats are not Democrats. Republicans are posturing opportunist preaching like Moses , like Akhnaton , like Taliban from the point of view of "God"told me this morning and all that shit.There is no free speech. It doesn't even matter what you do , it is what you say . The thought police are here and they shoot first , whitewash , then ask questions later.

Corporates say its the fault of the unions that they moved abroad but we know that NAFTA didn't help the US . Corporations would still have child labor if they could and don't forget slavery. We are not that far off ,in fact this Corpocracy is just another form of slavery. Stop waving the flag and saying ,"..but this is the best country in the world ." and all that shit .It isn't and hasn't been for a long ,long time . We have become the Nazis.There is no common sense in our congress, the TSA, the NSA, the CIA, the FBI, the Pentagon ,or any of the letters out there trying to hold on to their budgets in spite of them already being fat ,inflated beyond our understanding because the real budgets are secret. Doesn't everybody want to have more toys ? Why do we have to support men with toys that kill? They are not protecting us , they are making it worse for us , the US in the world . You don't have to shoot and then make up stories about why you had to shoot . This has become the US Foreign Policy . Drone Warfare creates more "Justifiable Homicide" in the name of the American People .The label "Colatteral Damage" doesn't do much to cover up what should be called "Murder" . Bradley Manning blew the whistle on "Murder" ,murder similar to war stories I heard from men at Travis Air Force Base in San Fransisco 1965 but ,then again , those "Atrocities" were not collateral damage but what we became supporting a questionable foreign policy .

1St Amendment Still Up for Grabs

    The1st Amendment is a problem to corporate greed so watch out for those that would stifle voices,for instance Ron Paul,the only Republican candidate who has stood against starting another war ,at his own party's nomination event.

     The illegal arrest of the 26 year old former Marine in Virginia who posted remarks on Facebook is another terrible example of the abuse of the 1st Amendment right to free speech.He was set free as there were no legitimate charges there.The question remains as to how far he will take his possible litigation against a police state.

    Corporate entities have been fighting Union labor since Unions were invented. The Union force has dwindled considerably not to mention the factories of Pontiac and other empty cites , for example in Michigan. The Republican Party takes pride in putting union workers in their place. This includes teachers, police , and the government organizations. The first major crack down was on the air traffic controllers in the first few months of the Reagan administration. The current Republican platform is not one that is interested in protecting the American worker at all . Their platform openly is continuing down the path of "Trickle Down"( Voodoo) economics.Dismantling the regulations that have protected the citizenry from the greed of monopolies , the excesses of commercial banking (now deeply a part of investment banking), and the inequality of citizens economically that were once made equal in the voting booth has been achieved by corporate strength in campaign donations.

   One by one the corporations and conservatism have been dismantling our democracy.

   The first amendment cannot be taken for granted . Servicemen and even those that have retired ,our veterans are subject to scrutiny and the individual worker also is tied politically to their place of employment especially if it is a conglomerate. What you might write or even "Like" on the inner space of the Internet ,including Facebook , is open for discussion and approval by your employer. In that Facebook is a relatively new medium ,only popular for a few years so far, this is an ongoing situation.

   So they take away another Marine , so what ? So they take away a former Marine , so what ? Boy,.. Marines? It makes you wonder who is next . Who me ?

Little Gigs

When I see the advertizements for individual gigs from other musician friends on Facebook it only reminds me that we are in a much different era. Professional musicians are papering the house instead of going from town to town entertaining the locals.Yea , yea , there are the shows , those venues of indifferent bigness but that is another illusion that really doesn't support many people for very long.Musicians were traveling across this country long before I ever went to work. Road life was a way of life and being a musician was also a means of support as well as an art.When did it change? I don't know ,it was a gradual thing like the climate of the world changing or the cowboys vanishing as the trains took the cattle across the country instead of trail driving men.Where did the cowboys go ? What did they do ? I might find out ,or maybe I won't.

    This morning I woke up thinking of gigs ,past gigs .For some reason I was hung up remembering singing "Can't Turn You Loose" in front of a band(the Otis Redding song)and it wouldn't stop playing round my mind. That wasn't my usual fair ,really ,yet it was fun and exciting to see the crowd moving to the rhythm . Each gig has it's character , the individuals , the weather conditions, the load in and out, as well as the excitement of the audience's reactions as a whole and individually.I can float thorugh decades of gigs in my memory ,entire eras that are gone now . Somehow this morning ,I found myself remembering DC in 1964 playing the stringed bass at the "Brass Rail"with Charlie Hampton and Philly Joe Chavis.Buck Hill often sat in with us .Steve Novacel stopped in and I would switch to piano and Charlie picked up his alto or flute. The club was a nice little jazz scene five nights a week. On NY Avenue there were clubs in a row that sometimes I would peek in or have a beer between sets. There was another place called "New York ...Something" that had other musicians from out of town . It was before the rock thing took over everything . I would catch strange combos ,combinations that seemed unlikely like violin ,trombone , and piano .Such strange combos that I had to wonder how they did it . A Duo with Violin and drums seemed kind of brutal.

    Ten years later ,I remember a violinist , Morgan Bear, who was a local booking agent here ,booking society music . He sold continuous music for the four or five hours they palyed and that would get down to strange combos ,too,as the musicians had to leave the stand occasionally. The trumpet players lips would fall off . Even the drums and bass had to stop sometime but the music went on . Out of Morgan's office there was another fellow ,Tommy Miropolis, a drummer who used to work for Liberace . He gave me some work . I played pop music then ,mingling in jazz ,but popular songs and what were becoming soul oldies.It is ironic that another agent there, Gene Donati , wasn't interested in pop and wasn't even booking any acts ,didn't give me a contact at all , but it wasn't too much longer that his jobs became so pop oriented that the pop format became known as a "Donati gig"to the musicians in DC. When I met them , they looked down their noses at popular music in favor of the standards ,two beat, and maintaining the society and political jobs of Washington DC.

     One morning Miropolis called me and asked where I was playing. I didn't think too much about it at all and told him , "The Back Alley" a place I had been for a little while playing solo piano and singing. I played five or six nights a week there .There used to be other guys too.One of the guys was "Trey Hur", who played a knuckles O'Toole kind of bar room piano of real old songs. He once was a winner on the "Gong Show". My pop format kind of overtook the sing along thing somewhere along the way.I never papered the house or solicited friends to come to my scene as I met new friends and entertained the local people who lived in which ever part of town I found myself for a few months.Schmoozing on the phone with owners and maintaining contact ,over time ,I would go back again and again ,as I did in the "Back Alley". That afternoon , as I started at happy hour , I noticed Morghan Bear's man,Tommy walking through the place . He didn't stop to say hello but seemed in a hurry. I knew he was trying to cop the gig . I did speak with the owner later who quipped ,"Friend of yours? ..Yes, ,with friends like that ,pal.." Anyway , while I maintained contact with Tommy , I didn't mention my gigs to him anymore but Gigs come and go.

    One time when I was out of work Tommy gave me a contact ,a position at a strip club to make a few bucks. I went out in the afternoon and met cab drivers at the hotels across town and told them that I would give them two dollars for each man they brought to the club. Later , I would be outside the club ,sometimes acting as a doorman ,but paying off the cabbies as they came and went . The "Show Palace" was on 11th Street when it was a strip mall ( haha .. real strippers , that is ) .There was a comedian-MC introducing the girls ,doing schtick between acts ,saying things like ,"Oh Newark , yea ..and he would have a joke about Newark or what ever town . The comedian was Jay Leno and he was doing the same act he does now,really.He was a nice guy at the time and seemed genuinely interested in you when he spoke with you ,just as he seems to be at the distance of TV.The girls were very attractive and were dressed in very little between their exotic dances.They tantalized and came to the tables to speak with customers who often bought them drinks .They ordered champagne but the waiter would bring ginger ale and charge the customer for champagne.That was like working at a carnival and I didn't do it very long and didn't keep touch with the Morgan Bear office too much after that.

Showing Our Colors

I was just tired of looking up the skirt of "Liberty".The indignity of our current governmental failures is not funny at all . The systemic problems may be too far gone to repair,especially as we continue to wave the flag and salute it as if a metaphor has anything to do with current issues at all.If the flag fails ,maybe some sabre rattling will suffice or introduce an innocuous "Bill" that will go nowhere but get some sound bites on TV for our phony representatives. The Senate members should be acting on behalf of their individual States and not their political parties or campaign contributors.What if we outlawed "Lobbyist"? Would the Corporations just make direct payoffs? I thought that if Cain's numbers were 666 instead of 999 ,he might have had a chance,but then again, I thought that if Obama would just go ahead and get the 666 tattoo on his forehead it would show some humor ....
But NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Damn , this has been an ordeal trying to publish this stupid little ,tiny comment .I can't seem to edit my post . It is yet another nightmare . Maybe it doesn't matter what I do , it will all come to nothing in the end anyway. That is enough !

Rhetorical Polical Humor or Liberty Burning

Characterizations are entertaining ,rhetorical fantasies but not realities.Lenin and Stalin were Marxist,Benito Mussolini was a Socialist.The Obama administration is not either of these things.Campaign rhetoric is expensive advertizing paid for by corporate interest and repeated by those swayed by the propaganda.This includes the delegates elected by the citizens of this country as well as the people who are accosted by expensive television ads.What individual citizen can afford to buy television ads to promote his or her particular point of view? No individual is taking this action.

The United States came together incorporating many compromises to form a stronger union against the British.Compromise means coming to the table ,discussing,and facing the opposition,with give and take.Compromise doesn't include the next election or personal gains.If there is no compromise then there is a shut down and that is what we are experiencing right now.Our elected representatives are failing to do their job which includes compromising and moving forward.

The executive branch does not run this country.The people who own this country ,those "powers that be",will do what ever they want in spite of our elections and the imaginary democratic majority will.Some may see this as the corporations who can afford lobbyist and major campaign money at this point.The lobbyist of the people used to be the Senators and Congressmen but they have changed alliances to follow the money,the trips, and the perks of their position.

The Supreme Court Decision of Jan,2010 was an insult to the American democracy and negated the "One man ,one vote" system that was the basis of our representative system from it's inception.Giving corporate entities the same rights of individual citizens has openly allowed "Plutocracy" to flourish.The Presidency and the individual presidents are one third of the corruption .There will be no panacea ,no way out, and no sudden resolution to the economic, political,or systemic problem.Poking at Obama is merely another distraction,much as in my opinion,the "Health Bill" was a distraction from the real systemic problems that have existed since the early nineteen sixties and not beginning with the attacks of 9/11/01 or in Obama's election of 2010.

It is hard to imagine the US government going socialist or communist when it has achieved Plutocracy for the 1% or less.Corporations have no interest in sharing. They couldn't exist and thrive as they are without a capitalist system.

Some people seem to have the hope of bringing back some imaginary better era ,a paradise America of the past ,somewhere in the idyllic fifties.Who could forget the McCarthy era .We are way past that in fear mongering having come through the Bush-Cheney era.That is not to say that Obama has changed anything,in fact,I am tempted to go to the airport and get in line just to be felt up and smile for the TSA agent,even though I am not getting on a plane.

Communism and socialism ,in general, are moot points , an imaginary enemy with no teeth, something like making a point of "Where was Obama born?". There recently was a debate on a Constitutional Amendment to balance the budget which was on the same par as both Communism and birth places in being a waste of time ,a diversion,smoke and mirrors,like the year spent on a phony,watered down "Health Bill"eventually orchestrated by Insurance Companies.The foxes are ruling the hen house.The rhetoric of pointing fingers at others as a defense of the proposed Messianic Republican clowns running for president and being covered intensely by the press ,is not a new tactic and it doesn't really help the Republican cause .At least they are openly supporting their corporate masters.

The Democrats are more subtle but the misplaced loyalty crosses the aisle.The BP Oil Spill was a perfect example of the Democrats bending over to protect big oil.Need I remind you that the protection of the shores of America is the duty of our government and not the oil companies.The millions of people who have been negatively affected by the British Petroleum Oil Company's catastrophic mistake and not reimbursed for the hardship or destruction of their livelihood shouldn't forget that the regulation of drilling was lax under the Democrats as well as the Republicans.This gambling method of protecting our shores and seas continues to this day.Regulations are constantly being tested and withdrawn instead of endorsed .Campaign funds should not be more important than the welfare of our citizenry and the protection of our environment.

Two Akhs,Becketaten,Jesus,Bob,and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

My response on a Facebook status became so involved that I decided I had better keep it in my notes.I am not sure how cohesive these two entrees are but the subjects became related.I once dissagreed with an author(Robert Feather)I met and wrote back and forth with in a Yahoo Group who had written an entire book about a relationship between Akhnaton and the Essenes .I still do not believe there is an actual tie between the two yet my own writing here brought them together in a way.Monotheism ,after all , is the foundation of Judaism,Christianity,and Islam and ,if one accepts the first theocratic dictator of monotheism as Akhnaton,then ,perhaps there can be that kind of a tie. I never have seen any actual proof of the Essenes being dedicated to Akhnaton or even to Joshua but the world is young.

Christian superiority is deeply rooted and related to the strange ,difficult discipline of the Essene Jews."The Way" is actually another term referring to one of the Essene Jewish sects circa 20 BC when they had a skism with Herod who wouldn't rebuild the Great Temple according to the Essene design found in the "Temple Scrolls"(Qumran 1947).The Essene's were exclusive celibates,many of which were actually orphans taken in to the all man community.Qumran,about 14 miles outside of Jerusalem,became the "New Jerusalem"for the outcast who continued to change politically till they were mostly Zealots and the ensuing persecution of the Romans nearly wiped them out in 42 AD and later in about 72 AD.Essene literature was also found at Massada.They actively were baptizing as far as Rome and Persia ,collecting half a sheckle per person, they sent the money back to Qumran.They continued to pay off Herod and his line but amassed great sums of money.While Jesus was an Essene,a recognized "David",the "Son of Man" or King that represented the laity in the Temple ,the Jesus party separated from the Essenes during their Zealotry when Jesus said ".. Render unto Caesar..". His group was seeking a peaceful settlement and had friends in Rome.The separation resulted in Jesus and his party becoming the enemy of the Essenes(Caiaphas,High Priest of the Sanhedrin,Judas,etc).Barbara Thiering wrote that in the Dead Sea Scrolls(Qumran 1947),Jesus was the "Man of Lies" while John the Baptist was the "Man of Righteousness"which are two dominant characters found in their Qumran discoveries.Till his death , the Baptist was a dominant force while Jesus's position was questioned .Jesus's brother,James was more acceptable to the Essene's discipline of living.Seeing the scroll written from the point of view of the enemy brings other truths into the historicity of the life of Jesus,his family, and the resulting religious movement that broke off from the Essene.I have paraphrased some intricate theories but you can look further into the Pesher code of the scrolls here: http://www.peshertechnique.infinitesoulutions.com/

Actually, the first monotheist,Akhnaton,dictated the first law of
monotheism,"Thou shalt have no other god ". Before him(Akh) ,Egypt was
polytheistic and after him they went back to polytheism but the seed
of intolerance was planted by him .The repression of his name from the
list of Kings didn't help to put out the fire,in fact any repression
brings a backlash.Cults were replanted on the very site of Akhetaten
,in fact across the Nile the Greek Heliopolis continued the sun
worshiping and the memory of the Amarna- Akhnaton experiment or revolt from the top.

The question in 2000 was "Is Tut ,Akh's son,Jewish or was
Moses an Atenist"( "Moses and Monotheism" ,Sigmond Freud). The
Japanese DNA team was expelled in 2000 with the words ,"A Zionist
Plot".The darling of archaeology and Mubarac , the Keeper of
iniquities at Giza,Zahi Hawass,was part of that repressive technique at that time.
(I wonder where that guy is at now?) The DNA test were attempted ten
years later and the results of finding the "Jewish gene" seems as
illusive as the results from the several mummies that were examined in 2010.I
haven't seen it.The only result I read was to confirm that Tut's
mother and father were related. The important answer didn't rule out
that Tut's mother could have been his grandmother, Tiye . The question
is important because it could show that Akhnaton was the historical
Oedipus of Greek Tragedy, another story of repression but obsessive in
the psychology of men.

All the Christian sects come from Roman Catholicism and Catholicism still originates from the Essene Jewish culture and eventually the dictates of Constantine at Nicea.The basic sacraments,"Baptism,Communion,as well as tenets of being reborn in the
religion,are from the Essene practices which included a
Pope,Cardinals(Saints),celibate priest,and the concept of
"Messiah".

This concept "Messiah" also has an Egyptian origin. Each
Pharaoh was a "Messiah",an anointed one.The Egyptians were generally
more tolerant as polytheist,living and donating to the Temples of
their choice,as many as they wanted ,or as few.Monotheism brought
intolerance as well as subjugating people,promoting supernatural fairy
tales ,and inhibiting intelligence.This continues to this day in all
the variations of monotheism including Islam.It's all fruit of the
same bad seed, Akhnaton's theocracy and Atenism ,which covered the
kings excesses and the aberrations in his behavior.It is ironic that
the giver of laws ,Akhnaton, who could have become the Moses,was such
a deviant yet we can see other cases in present day of the same kind
of scandals and cover ups while pointing at others from modern televangelist.

This is my current desk top. I do change them often.I can't imagine how people can get tattoos that are not changeable ,immovable things.My other sites feature slides of my painting composites,which tend to change and grow.Maintaining sites that have slides and music is an ongoing project . I feel that the image and presentation on line is the art . There is no more . I made them with this presentation in mind .More recent sites are meant to be viewed in full screen. I know that people don't tend to sit and stare at these though I have spent time doing just that. Youtube is stared at and those films are just terrific entertainment sometimes.I wish I had a larger screen to see my own presentations but I don't have that choice right now.Maybe someone else out there does .I hope so.

Yesterday I repaired a slideshow that was going too fast. This page from "Widgetville"features some of my earlier experiments with this medium.The music can be switched off by the little speaker logo on the lower right under the slides.The two slideshows can be viewed individually in full screen with their own music or the "Playlist" widget music. Widgetville doesn't have any links right now but "Superdreamer" is another variation on my theme and it has links to other sites ,each slide is a different collection with different music,most of which is personally played and recorded by me.

My post have gone down yet I want to keep kicking the side of the "Net" to let you know I am still alive and kicking.Again, so much water is over the dam that it is hard to catch up. I am bailing as fast as I can but right now I am truly in yet another transitional period,all over the place between here and a hundred miles away ,wondering how it will all resolve. I also wonder what will become of my Internet works and connections if I'm not here to repair or continue.How long does anything last? Everything is , after all ,in constant change and adapting to what is coming around the bend.

The Wind

Peggyann , an on line friend on Facebook ,wrote "I hate the wind" in response to current ,early December weather conditions.There was a response from one of her friends of "Boo for the wind" and both of these phrases caught my eye.Perhaps I haven't really seen this kind of phrase too often but I have been panned in the past,the criticisms stinging me at times.. haha.Some people aren't aware of my past associations or ancient history that is not associated with Akhnaton, the 18th Dynasty Egypt,or Essene literature from Qumran.Peg was responding to the weather but I thought of her all morning and went on line just to write down what had gone through my mind because of her inspiration of ,"Hating the Wind".

The repetitive refrain from my old song , sang:

"Love is the wind , Wind is my love , Who knows the wind, Who knows my love , Where blows the wind , The wind is my love."

Love, like the wind , and in my song is abstract,an illusive ,changing picture that relies upon individual interpretation. Change is the only constant as in the rest of life yet we try to make a moment last , a feeling return, an orgasm continue that is intrinsically fleeting as are all of our entire existences,fleeting.We come and go as do all our friends and our families.Nothing last forever.The poetry recognizes the fact that change is coming , the wind represents changing.The poet isn't really in love with the wind , he is repressing his hatred of change by expressing an embrace of change.The wind is cold,brittle, and unmerciful yet the wind is not a being .The wind is intangible,without feelings or meanings. The poet wants to emulate the wind and have no feelings for anything anymore.The verses of the song tell stories of changes,some unwanted ,yet the resolution is to embrace the change and recognize that love is intangible and fleeting.

What if I had written :
"Hate is the wind , wind is my hate,who knows my hate, where blows my hate, the wind is my hate."

The effect would not be poetry but a narrative.This song was never written to be a hit song and ,indeed, succeeded in that respect, yet many diverse people did hear and relate to the lyric.In recent times I have been surprised at the responses from all over the world from people who remember when they heard the tune or listened to it again and again ,reporting the radio stations and personalities that played the record on the air.A couple years ago I was new to Youtube yet I found that someone had already uploaded the "Wind"."Zoodden" is listed as posting to Youtube from Sweden,certainly he's not from around these parts,pardner,yet he has heard and shared his recording with about 25,000 people at this point in time.The comments found at the site of our 1967 recording have been generally fascinating to me considering the age of the recording."Wind" was different than anything we did in that group and ironically was the one tune that was played the most.I sang out of tune and overdubbed solos but the poetry prevailed.The recording engineer was actually fired from the company shortly after the recording because of a splice he made in the tape.Sometimes the "Circus Maximus" was panned as a "Byrds" copy group but ,though I often played a jingle jangle type lead guitar ,I never owned the twelve string Rickenbacker guitar that was the center of the Byrd's sound but we used one that was rented a couple of times for the recordings. I normally played a 1959 Fender Stratacaster until it was stolen.We sang folk music in trio harmony before we had the electric guitars.We had some successes as a band including playing Carnegie Hall together but also had downers as well.The group was panned terribly one time by WBAI NY who played the entire album at 45 RPM and then again at 78 RPM . We sounded like the chipmonks and then maniacal chipmonks , our close harmony becoming a cartoon parody.In spite of their critical review WBAI still played the "Wind" in it's entirety night after night.(Right click these links to listen in a different window and continue reading)

The wind blowing through hair is often an image of freedom ,like a convertible driving fast with a beautiful girl in the passenger seat , her hair blowing while she laughs.Actually, not everyone wants their hair to blow uncontrollably. Even the models are set up to create the illusion , the fans blown from a certain angle , the hairspray already applied to keep a style throughout the effect.The wind this morning was cold and made the low temperature colder and the image of a beautiful model who's hair was blowing never entered my mind.I never achieved a hatred of the wind.A cool breeze on a hot day might be enjoyable as the sunny day but the sunny day doesn't love you back any more than the cool breeze means to bring you pleasure.You might love the sunny day ,a rainy day , or even a windy day but this is only the environment and there is no reciprocation from the weather. The character of the weather is an invention,sometimes poetic, sometimes not,but there is no "Jack Frost". "Jack" is a cartoon representation.Poor Jack, subjected to hatred like a Cold Wind. The winds will change and Jack's winter will come and go and soon we will want to see Jack again and again , everything changes . Change is in the wind .
